Jean-Luc Godard is one of the founding papa's of French New Wave Cinema. Breathless (À bout de souffle),Bande à part (Band of Outsiders) and A Women is a Women are definite must-sees. He greatly influenced the work of several directors including Quentin Tarantino and you will find that Jean-Luc Godard's leading beauty, Anna Karina, greatly resembles Uma Thurman (PULP FICTION!). He was a radical filmmaker, an existentialist and a Marxist and another genius. Rent it, buy it and watch his films. They will definitely influence and affect you in some way shape or form if you are an artist.
