WAKA WAKA

Ok...so the first game of the World Cup is coming up in 30 minutes and I am super excited! Going with the theme of the week, I decided to explore the fashions of South Africa. They have their very own fashion week(Joburg Fashion Week) which is climbing it's way up in terms of global recognition. Three designers particularly stood out for me, and those were SODA, Bianca Warren and Mantsho. These are brilliant, new visionaries in the world of South African fashion that are definately worth following!

Miss Claudia Cardinale

Another beautiful and inspirational Italian screen goddess. I wish that the era of these glamazon women would return. They didn't need much to get ready but they knew what it meant to be a woman. It meant being a sensual being and very visceral. They held their wonderful feminine qualities intact. I hate to start an argument over feminism and women's rights, but I believe that many women have driven that feminine mystique away from themselves only to prove how "equal" we are to men. They downplayed their sensuality, their charm, their god given beauty...those were reasons for them to be stereotyped and judged upon their sex. Hey, a woman can be whatever woman she wants to be. Free country. However, I like to be a WOMAN with capitals. I don't hide my nature given traits and I am not afraid that someone will look down upon me or think less of me because I choose to be overtly feminine. In this day and age, I think that would instead be massively embraced as the gender line slowly fades away. Let the words tramp and slut disappear in our vocabulary and our dress code and let's start showing a new breed of woman. A real classy gal.

CUTE AS A BUTTON clothes, knick knacks etc.
Fair warning...you WILL buy stuff you don't necessarily need.. per example..these are the items I am contemplating...
I can think of a million reasons why I would need a snow cone maker, a burger wallet, fondue for two set and a donut pillow.

"I don't want to live. I want to love first, and live incidentally."-Zelda Fitzgerald

Many a nights I have spent as a little girl watching Chaplin/ Keaton/ Brooks/Pickford films and thinking that perhaps I was born in the wrong era. I would wake up in the morning and go through my mom's makeup and apply a little bow lip with some red lipstick. I would find her gorgeous flapper dress with all the beading, put it on, and dance around the house to old jazz songs. The dress, of course, skimmed the floor but I thought I was Lillian Gish. Then one day when I was about 5, I cut off all my long blonde hair to a "bob". My mother wasn't thrilled. The scissors were locked away, but I was the happiest 5 year old. Here's to one of the most beautiful, timeless and decadent eras in history!

I'VE OPENED UP MY VERY OWN STORE!!!!

I've always dreamed of having my own store as a kid and now I have one!
Ok...it's on ebay...but still! It's called Zanzabelle's Closet. For now, I specialize in selling designer stuff ( such as Prada, Moschino, Guess ) for cheap, for new and used. Also, I've got some pretty cool vintage belts on there as well as homemade handmade charm bracelets. There will be PLENTY more to come as I ease into the whole ebay business thing.
But check it out...you might find something you like for a really good price :)
